| Blalock Walters is one of, if not the, oldest law firms in Manatee County dating back into the early 1920’s. Originally the firm occupied a modest suite on the second floor of the First National Bank of Bradenton (now NationsBank), which is located at the Southwest corner of Manatee Avenue and 12th Street West. Since then the firm the firm has moved several times including a new building in 1967across from the Carnegie Library, now the Manatee County Historical Records Library and the old Dixie Grande Hotel building. Our present site was occupied in 1969 and has undergone several extensive renovations and enlargements since that time.
Throughout this history, our attorneys have served as officers and directors in a number of other major civic organizations. Some of our past positions include President of the United Way, Manatee Chamber of Commerce, Florida West Coast Symphony, Manatee Players Bradenton Kiwanis Club, Bradenton Rotary Club , and Manasota Goodwill Industries. Our attorneys have been active in professional organizations as well and served as President of the Manatee County Bar Association, Chairman of the 12th Judicial Circuit’s Judicial Nominating Commission, Chairman of the 12th Judicial Circuit’s Grievance Committee, and Chairman of the Sarasota and Manatee County Estate Planning Councils.
We are very proud of the firm’s historical commitment to the community, its people and to the solution of its clients’ legal matters. We remain committed to continuing this legacy as we move forward. |
